Princeton University Class of 1979 Annual Giving Report

The 2021-2022 Annual Giving campaign, and '79's 43rd, have ended. Here are the results.

On behalf of fellow AG co-agent Rick Grove, AG class participation chairs Phil Hueber and Gary King, and the 25+ classmates who volunteered their time to help with our outreach, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to each of our 376 classmates who contributed a total of $413,877.

The overall campaign eclipsed the $80 million mark for the first time in AG history! The campaign-wide participation rate was 47.4% for undergraduate alumni and '79 clocked in at a rate of 35.8%.

So, a big '79 locomotive to all in support '79's Annual Giving efforts. This video captures the emotions of many other alumni who also gave. Thank you.

Additional factoids:

Our class alone has now contributed just over $30.3 million to Annual Giving since we graduated 44 years ago. That's an outstanding achievement, to say the least! We have set 28 records for annual contributions, including 5 of our 8 major reunions, and one, for our 24^th, that still stands! And, as we have shared with you, participation is a key focus for us and remains a top priority going forward.
After our 40th Reunion, we were ranked #7 among all class for total dollars given. Last year, because of intervening majors, we dropped to #13 (expected). Hopefully, with a successful 45th, we will be back in the top 10!
Despite our participation rate being only 38.5% this year (up from 35.8% last year), 88% of the Class has given to AG at some point since graduation.
And most notable: '79 is the #1 ranked Class in giving through the 43rd Reunion! Though that record is at risk because of consistently impressive giving by some of the younger (and larger) Classes, it is still a milestone worth being proud of, and we have been, if I remember correctly, #1 in cumulative giving through every Reunion since our 25th. Not too shabby, eh?
