ROADTRIP TO THE 40TH REUNION:
DISPATCHES FROM THE TYPEWRITERS OF
MADISON, HOLDER, WITHERSPOON AND BLAIR
Letter #10 October, 2018

Dear ’79 Classmates,

We are approaching one of my favorite times of the year. I will give you a hint …  it involves orange and black and costumes. Wondering what this could be? I will give you a minute to ponder. Another hint…it is not Reunions, but in many ways very similar. It’s Halloween, of course! It's the one day of the year when it's difficult to tell those who attended Princeton from those who didn't, as even those who didn't will happily wear orange and balck long into the night of the 31st.

Both Halloween and Reunions can be very scary. Halloween is full of ghoulish make-up and tricks. The same can be said of Reunions and returning to Princeton after many years – minus the ghoulish make-up and tricks. I know that I have not kept up with most of our classmates except through news or social media. It is intimidating to put ourselves out there in person, but like Halloween, we will all be in attire with lots of orange and black. Strangers and acquaintances become friends through a shared experience. I love seeing my old friends and relish making new ones.

Both involve fancy dress. For Halloween a great costume takes thought and either trips to the store or good sewing and crafting skills. For Reunions, however, no thought, shopping or crafting is involved. Our fabulous team has put together stylish and comfortable outfits that are included in our very reasonable reunion price. So, not only will the We Are Family reunion be the best ever, the Great Class of 1979 will be the most stylish ever. Look what we will be wearing under our beloved Reunion Jacket!

Halloween and Reunions are also full of treats – good food, good drink and great music.  We’ve already booked two fantastic bands for the Friday and Saturday nights of Reunions Weekend. We also have a new class website which has all the information on housing (on and off-campus), class attire, the program, the class survey and yearbook entry

Reunions registration opens November 1! Early Bird registration will run from November 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019, saving as much as $250!

Come back to Old Nassau. We look forward to seeing you at our 40th!

See you in Tigertown!

Maddie
