Our
great Class of '79 Annual Giving campaign ends on June 30th... there
are just a few days left. So far, almost 450 classmates have given and
we are striving for 50% participation which would enable our class to
achieve a great milestone. To do so, we need 75 additional 79ers to give
to the campaign. Your contribution, whatever the size, also adds to
'79s incredible record of giving which, over our first 39 years, has
exceeded $25 million in total!
Consider some of the uses of Annual Giving funds that keep Princeton at the very top of its class:
• | A
Financial Aid program that grants an average of the total cost of
tuition (over $50,000) to 60% of the class. This amounted to $173
million in grants to undergraduates during the current academic year,
enabling almost everyone to graduate from Princeton practically
debt-free. |
• | Leading
interdisciplinary research programs in which Princeton can attract
faculty and invest in earlier than otherwise possible with the benefit
of AG dollars. These initiatives envision solutions to wicked world
problems and have led to strategic industry collaborations such as one
with Microsoft that is studying biofilm production through advanced
research in molecular biology and computational modeling. Biofilms are
the leading cause of microbial infection (that kills as many people
worldwide as cancer) and the global crisis of antibiotic resistance. |
• | Student
support programs that assist in a variety of ways the acclimation and
growth of Princeton's incredible and diverse student body. This is
particularly noteworthy with the launch of the FLi Tigers & ’79
Friends mentoring program for first generation or low income students. |
Please help us reach 50% participation. It is simple to donate online or by calling 800.258.5421.
We thank you and salute your generosity and loyalty to our class.
