Dear We Are Family Classmates,
We’re
in the early stages of planning the 2019-20 Annual Giving campaign and
we are announcing a new initiative to increase participation in Annual
Giving. Participation means a gift of any amount, even the smallest.
Last year, Class of 1979 participation was 46% and we raised almost $3M
for our 40th Reunion year.
We
are writing to ask that you volunteer to be part of the team that will
help us achieve 50% participation this year. While our peer schools
consider this participation rate to be remarkable, we know the Class of
1979 can do better, thus we’ve set a goal of 50% for this year.
Many
‘79ers served as Mentors last summer as part of the Fli Tigers &
’79 Friends mentoring program. Fli students are “first generation / low
income” students who now comprise 17% of the student body. Annual Giving
allows several benefits:
• | Need blind admission |
• | Essentially free tuition for almost half of Princeton’s students and 60% receive some form of aid |
• | All financial aid is in terms of grants – no loans |
Annual
Giving has a very easy, user friendly, non-invasive system called
“Tiger Traks” that enables you to write directly to classmates you know.
The two of us used it last year and we reached our many friends in the
class in a quick and enjoyable way. And it was fun to reconnect with
everyone!
