Saturday, May 30 @ 10:00 AM ET “The Covid19 Pandemic: Perspectives from the CDC”. We are delighted to host classmate Steve Redd ’79, Deputy Director for Public Health Service and Implementation Science at the Centers for Disease Control, in a moderated discussion with Henry C. Maguire MD ’79.
Steve has worked at the CDC for over 30 years and has led CDC response
teams for several potential public health threats including the H1N1
pandemic in 2009 and Ebola outbreaks in West Africa in 2014. He is
currently working in Washington DC for the CDC addressing the Covid19
pandemic. Henry is the former Director of Pediatric Neurology, Geisinger
Medical Center.

Saturday, May 30 @ 11:30 AM ET “Telling True Tales: Author Josh Hammer Discusses Adventure Non-Fiction Writing”. We are thrilled to be sitting down with Josh Hammer ‘79, long-time Newsweek bureau chief and author of NYT best seller “The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu” and the recently published “The Falcon Thief: A True Tale of Adventure, Treachery and the Hunt for the Perfect Bird”.
Josh has also published articles in periodicals including The Atlantic,
The New Yorker, NYT Magazine, GQ, and National Geographic and Outside.
Josh will discuss his two recent books, his influences and his
globe-spanning creative process with moderator (and fan!) class co-secretary Kathryn Reimann.

and Haiti’s preeminent band from Port-au-Prince “intertwine ancient
folkloric polyrhythms, punk rock guitar riffs and swinging Caribbean
