Please join us on February 12th at 11:30 EST for the latest installment of our ’79 Authors and Artists Series: A New Kind of Crime Family: A Conversation with Rob Goldberg and Gary Krist.
Recently, Rob co-authored the mystery novel, The Hanged Man’s Tale,
which just came out on Doubleday’s Nan Talese imprint. He teamed up
with his family to write the book when his father, the Pulitzer Prize
nominated author Gerald Jay Goldberg passed away last year. Together,
the family got the novel out for publication. Reviewers are calling it
“a riveting, fast-paced, atmospheric thriller.” Set in the streets of
Paris, it’s the story of a charming and abrasive French detective,
Mazarelle, on the trail of a serial killer – the Tarot Card Murderer.
This
conversation may be a bit of a walk down memory lane for Gary. Before
turning to narrative nonfiction Gary contributed a couple of titles to
the mystery-thriller genre: Bad Chemistry in 1998, and Chaos Theory in 2000.
In this unscripted discussion, we expect to hear about the The Hanged Man’s Tale and the Mazarelle series generally, including the first novel in the series, The Paris Directive,
and what the future holds for the detective. They will also discuss
Rob’s earlier collaborations with his father, and the mystery-oriented
documentaries he’s done for Nat Geo, Discovery, and Vanity Fair
Confidential.
We are thrilled to be able to join these two great authors for what promises to be a lively and informative session.
Please Register Here for Saturday February 12, 2022, 11:30 EST.
