Greetings, Family!

Here we are in the month where I can wear my favorite colors all the time— and let’s face it, who doesn't love a month with the tagline “trick or treat,” especially since I don’t have to choose. I do the trick AND I also get the treat! It’s also just about one month away from the launch of registration for our 45th Reunion. Keep an eye out for more communications, and remember to block May 23-26, 2024 on your calendars, if you haven’t done so already. We want to have more of you come back than ever before.

Our home base will be in Holder courtyard, and I am excited that our class dinner will be at Palmer House on Friday night. Our HQ Committee has some great things planned for Holder and Lower Cloister spaces that we will have use of, decorated to reflect our Family Classics theme. I can't wait to see it!

Speaking of Family Classics, we want to use some of the regalia from prior '79 major reunions in our P-rade. What do you still have in your attic or basement? Remember those black and orange surfer shorts from "'79 Hangs Ten"? I loved them and still have mine. Or our "beer jackets"? Or the soccer shirts from "35th & Goal"? Let us know what you still have and join the fun that we have in store for the P-rade! We need some groups of friends to volunteer to wear their classic garb from your favorite major reunion--yes, that's right--some of us will be sporting flashback costumes as well as something new that we will soon unveil.

Reach out if you would like to know more! Of course, we still expect our 25th class blazers to be making their appearance at the class dinner. And you can also wear them for Halloween--and if you do, please send us a photo! BTW, I am still trying to figure out who borrowed my mom’s blazer for the Halloween photo at right; do any of you know?

In an effort to keep the cost of our 45th down and have more classmates attend, we are also looking for sponsors for various treats to make our weekend more special. Would you like to host a special class drink before dinner, or a midnight snack after we dance the night away on Saturday night? If so, we'd love to hear from you so we can include it in our planning.

I would be remiss if I didn't remind you that we have lot's in store before Reunions--Autumn brings football and our Homecoming Tailgate Luncheon Saturday October 21 behind Cap & Gown. I hope to see you there too.
