Dear Classmates. Our
40th reunion class legacy project has been going strong since we
launched FLi Tigers and ‘79 Friends student mentoring program in 2019. The
2025 program is about to launch on June 23rd and the university is
asking for about 20 more volunteer mentors. Please see the note below
and use the link to sign up if you can help. We're a week out from beginning to match FLI undergraduates with mentors and WE NEED MORE MENTORS! Our
FLI Tigers & Friends Mentorship Program is a wonderful way to
connect with current undergraduates, support them as they continue their
educational journey, and help them develop their network of Princeton
connections. Here’s how FLI Tigers & Friends works: - Students and Mentors complete a survey about themselves and their backgrounds.
- Mentor Collective matches students and mentors based on similar interests and backgrounds, and what’s important to them.
- The
program will start on June 23rd and run for six weeks. Mentors and
mentees are expected to have two substantive conversations during this
time and an initial goal-setting conversation. You are more than welcome
to continue your relationship after the formal conclusion of the
program!
- You
will complete an online orientation module, which will help provide you
with important information and resources that can be useful in your
mentorship.
- Once
you and your mentee are matched, you will be put in an anonymous SMS
thread with your mentee that you can use to start communicating
(assuming you provided a cell number during registration).
- After
this initial conversation, you and your mentee can decide when and how
to speak (in person, on the phone, via Skype, etc.).
We
ask that you use the platform to log conversations and share your
experience with the program. You will be prompted with reminders on when
