Dear Classmates,
Having
lived in the greater Philadelphia area for nearly 40 years, I’ve had
the pleasure of visiting Longwood Gardens many times with family and
friends. Each visit has been special in its own way, and I’ve come to
truly appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this remarkable place. I’m
especially excited to share it with my Princeton family and to enjoy it
together.
Longwood
Gardens is widely regarded as one of the finest botanic gardens in the
world—and we’re lucky to have it right in our own backyard. We hope
you’ll join us for a joyful mini-reunion, open to classmates, friends,
family, and “children of all ages.”
Come
spend a relaxed, fun-filled day strolling through Longwood’s stunning
landscapes, catching up with old friends, and making new memories
together. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, from the breathtaking
5-acre conservatory to the expansive 85-acre Meadow Garden, along with
more than 200 acres of beautifully designed gardens, fountains, winding
paths, and inviting gathering spaces.
Admission
to the gardens is $38 for adults and $22 for youth ages 5–15. Lunch
will be catered by the class, so all you need to bring is your sense of
adventure and a readiness to enjoy the day.
Please register on our class website so we know how many people to plan for lunch.
Getting
there is easy: Longwood Gardens is about 30 miles from Philadelphia. If
you’re driving, simply use your favorite navigation app—there’s plenty
of free parking available. Prefer the train? Take Amtrak or SEPTA
Regional Rail to Wilmington, followed by a quick 20-minute Uber ride to
the gardens.
Longwood
is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Please come to the Visitor Center
between 10:30 and 11:00 am so we’ll have plenty of time to explore
before lunch is served at 12:30 PM.
We can’t wait to share this special day with you—come enjoy the beauty, the laughter, and the feeling of being together again.
Note:
if you want to plan a longer stay, I am happy to recommend additional
activities to make your visit more enjoyable. Feel free to email me.
